Cerros del Aguila was established in around 1980 by the Danish developer T. Kristensen, consisting mainly of villas set in mature gardens, with the urbanisation itself situated in magnificent rural surroundings. Aside from the views there is ample wildlife, the name actually means "Foothills of the Eagles" and they can be seen soaring effortlessly on the warm updrafts. Other raptors include peregrine falcons and red kites. Expect to see bee-eaters, parakeets, hoopoe and sardinian warblers, and in summer swallows and swifts dipping into the pool. At the entrance to the urbanisation is the concierge office, a bar/restaurant, supermarket and small café. Further in is the large community area with the communal pools attended by a lifeguard, sun-bathing areas, playground with climbing frame, and tennis courts. Here there is another bar/restaurant offering a broader menu and regular events such as karaoke, summer festival, flamenco show and weekly quiz. An urbanisation officer is also here for any help you may need. Distance to Fuengirola is only 10 minutes by car and to the airport in Malaga 25 minutes. Close to the urbanization you will find the horse racecourses and the big shopping centre Miramar.
