Apartments

Otherwise known as Piso's, apartments in Spain are plentiful. In fact in and around large towns and cities, the skyline is adorned with them. The size and quality of an apartment varies greatly, ranging from small studio apartments to top floor penthouses with huge marble spaces and all mod cons. The most sort after apartments are front line beach, where views of the sea and access to the beach really count.

Town houses

There is a lot of town house property for sale in Andalusia and although it may not be everyone's idea of the perfect idyll, they certainly have their advantages. In Spain, town houses are usually terraced or semi detached premises which can be set amongst communal gardens and a pool. They can be quite spacious and generally have 2 or 3 floors. What they lack in outside space, they make up for in the fact that they are modern built, so are often to a high standard of build.

Villas

Villas are found more in out of town areas and are generally detached. The majority of villas are owned by expats who have found their dream homes in the sun. They often have their own pool and come with land. Older villas are single storey and may need some reconstruction, especially if they have been used as holiday homes. Newer villas are generally two storeys and the build quality is better.

Country properties/Finca's

Country properties make up a good percentage of property for sale in Andalusia, and are becoming more popular as the coasts are getting crowded and more people are flocking inland to find their Spanish idyll. Country properties almost always come with a good deal of land, often with fruit and olive trees. One thing to bear in mind is that Finca's are in general old houses and as a result will need some sort of renovation unless you find one that has already been modernised, in which case you will pay a premium.
